Hero MotoCorp has finally opened the bookings for its first premium scooter, Hero Xoom 160. This is a powerful adventure-bike-inspired maxi-scooter which is suitable for longer rides, too.
This scooter enters a niche but growing segment in India and directly competes with Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 160.
This Hero scooter was officially launched in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on January 17, 2025. It is currently offered in a single, fully-equipped variant of:

Bookings for the Hero Xoom 160 have finally commenced on July 29, 2025, after some delays. Buyers can book the scooter by visiting an authorized Hero MotoCorp Premia dealership
The deliveries for this maxi-scooter are expected to commence in August 2025.
This maxi-scooter with adventure-styled elements is Hero MotoCorp's entry into the premium scooter segment. It offers a blend of comfort, performance, and rugged appeal suitable for short commutes and longer rides.
The scooter has some unique features, like the aggressive, upright, and rugged design. This look is accompanied by a tall windscreen, prominent front beak/fender, muscular body panels, and 14-inch wheels with block-pattern tires.
It also has smart tech features like the Smart Key for Remote Seat Opening, Remote Fuel Lid Opening, and Smart Find-My-Scooter. The scooter also has a dual-chamber LED headlamp with cornering lights.
For safety, the Hero Xoom 160 includes single-channel ABS, disc brakes (front and rear), and a long seat.

The Xoom 160 is Hero's first production scooter with a liquid-cooled engine. This ensures better thermal management and consistent performance.
It has a 156cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder, SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft) engine. This produces up to 14.6 bhp of power and 14 Nm of torque and is BS6 Phase 2 compliant.
It has a dry, centrifugal clutch and CVT transmission. The claimed mileage (ARAI) is approximately 40 kmpl. This adventure scooter has a decent 7-liter fuel tank and has a good ground clearance of 155 mm.
